20 months

Lillian

20 months has flown by and here we are with another Christmas in the books and a second birthday fastly approaching! Christmas was fun this year. You got excited about presents and loved opening them, even if it wasn't the right time yet. You also had to put every piece of paper you tore in the trash bag. Such a BIG helper! Our tree was "oh pwetty" and you loved all the birds on it as well. Mommy and Daddy had to get a guard dog though to keep you from taking things off the tree. He is a battery powered dog that laughs and moves and hun, you are scared of it. Well actually you are scared of any stuffed animal (toy) that moves and makes noise, moving yard inflatables, battery powered bath toys, some books that make noise ect. If you put batteries in it and it moves, little one is scared of it. You will say "it scary" and "I scared" and will repeatedly ask you if it is "turn OFF." Don't worry Lillian, Mommy and Daddy don't keep much of those things in the house or they are put away!

It is so mind boggling to know that we can carry on a full conversation with you now. You talk to us in whole sentences and ask for things and tell us no at the right times. You do something new everyday, that Mommy needs to start writing them down daily. You are such a joy and can brighten anyone's day, even while we are in some random store! You just wave and say "Hi" to people, in your sweet little voice. Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure we introduced manners to you early and we are happy we did that! You say "pweeese" and "tank you" at appropriate times and recently you say "scuse me" when someone is in your way. Oh and you say "bess you" when someone sneezes.
It just melts our heart.

Singing and dancing is a favorite pass time and COLORING! You LOVE to color. Santa brought you a desk to color on and we can't keep you from it. You colored for 6 hours on Christmas day! It sure was cute though. You love cooking in your kitchen and playing with your pretend food. You pretend to pour your play milk in (noises and all "sssssssssshhhpppppp") and say "mix it up" and you even taste your spoon and say "mmmmmm." You have become great at pretend play.

You keep us smiling and laughing ALL the time! You want us to kiss your boo boo's and you give us lots of hugs and kisses. Bumping your head on a wall and giggling and then telling us "I bump a head" is something funny you like to do. Hiding is a fun game to. Well for you not so much for Mommy and Daddy. You like to get real quiet and squeeze into small spaces and wait. When we find you, you give a little smirk and take off.

Something new Daddy and Mommy discovered is that you can count to 10 with help. Yes you can COUNT! The other day Daddy was playing in the bathroom with you and you were hiding in the towel cabinet. He heard you start to count and when you got to 3, Daddy said 4 and then you said 5, and you and Daddy alternated until you got to 10. We thought maybe it was a fluke, so Daddy let you count to 4 and then Daddy said 5 and you alternated all the way to 10! We couldn't believe it! It was such a fun moment to share with you. We are some proud parents over here! You also know most of your letters, even out of order. We can point them out and you will tell us what it is but only in uppercase letters. Colors are a little harder for you but we are working on them.

There are so many things that you can do and Mommy and Daddy love experiencing life with you.

We love you our, no hair bow wearing, goldfish eating, tickle monster, sweet kiss giver, Yo Gabba Gabba lover, polite little toddler!

  2. Miranda,

I love your blog~ I love the way you write~ I just got chill bumps as I was reading and then looking down the page at your pictures. I laughed at the part you said she colored for hours on Christmas Day on her very own little artist desk....I laughed and said, "yep, you are your Grandmother's little artist'...just like Robyn~" I can see Robyn in a few of those pics and both you and your husband.

Your daughter is simply beautiful and lovely as your family. Blessings on your days as a sweet mother and wishing you much happiness in the new year~

    Love,
Connie Forbes (MTSU room-mate of your Mother)
